The name SuperMoon was coined by astrologer Richard Nolle in 1979,

A new or full moon which occurs with the Moon at or near (within 90% of) its approach to Earth in a given orbit perigee. In short, Earth, Moon and Sun are all in a line, with Moon in its nearest approach to Earth

Perigee is the point at which the Moon is closest in its orbit to the Earth

Syzygy may occur within a maximum of 12 hours from

perigee during a supermoon, and 1 hour from perigee during an extreme supermoon

Syzygy is a full or new moon, when the Earth, the Moon and the Sun are aligned.

The size and brightness of the moon is 14% larger and 30% brighter

Supermoon is happen once in 18 years.

The special phenomenon of SUPERMOON that happened on 20 March at 2 pm is it happens with full moon that appears in 29 days. 

The moon only  356,577 km from the earth. It 30.000 km nearer with the usual.

Speculative link to natural disasters

Supermoon is not astronomic name but it is include in astrology. Many astrologer usually identification if supermoon can make disasters or it berkaitan dengan kekuatan jahat.

Richard Nolle has argued that within 3 days of a supermoon, the Earth is more subject to natural disasters such as earthquakes and volcanic activity due to the Moon's increased gravitational force. Speculations have moved the goalposts to within 1 or 2 weeks of a supermoon to suggest a causal relationship with specific natural disasters such as the Japan’s Tsunami and Tracy in Australia.

But the other Scientist like Thomas Djamaluddin, Astronom of  LAPAN If supermoon is not mean as a disaster and It only regular position. The moon’s position nearest the earth only makes some small effect like the tides of sea water.  For the fisherman, in this condition they should not go to sea.
